second primitive buck kill "0ne Knot" gets er done
« on: November 11, 2014, 10:53:30 pm »
Shot this buck this evening with a bow I made back in September  "One Knot". Came in right before dark. He was on the move but made the mistake stopping to sniff some fresh doe pee. Ten yard shot broadside, double lung and caught some arteries at the top of the heart. He went about fifty yards... And lights out. I used a cedar arrow and zewicky broad head. This was my second primitive buck kill... And felt just as good as the first!!

Congrats, Jon!  A "2fer" for the "One Knot" . . . .
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857

Congratulations on a fine buck.  Looks like a big body on that buck.  Should be a lot of good meat for the freezer.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left
