steam bending

When steam bending dry wood do I need to seal or oil my stave

I never have. Some always do. It never can hurt to wipe a coat or two of shellac on the portion your steaming.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

What Pearl said....  you don't really need to but it wouldn't hurt either.
