Arrow shaft length
« on: October 29, 2014, 02:31:14 pm »
I have a 26 inch draw and if I shoot of my hand one web site said the arrow should be 2 inches longer and the the field point in addition to that.
Does this approach work for other shooting off the had archers?

I draw 26" but cut my shafts to 30". I don't mind the extra length and IMO a longer arrow gets around the bow easier.

I shoot arrows ranging from 2" to 5" longer that my draw length.  I change length to fine tune them....unless I'm making a matching set of arras.  Then I'm trying to match spine, weight and length.  Many more raw shafts are needed to start with to  do that.  :)
