Longbowman Gear, Battle of Agincourt 1415

Saw this on another site I frequent. Thought you guys would like check it out.

It's a longbowman's inventory of gear. The large log or stick at the bottom was driven into the ground to slow incoming Calvary and slow incoming infantry.

Not sure. It was part of a series that an photographer did of the gear of soldiers through out time.
Does anyone know what that bow looks to be tipped with?

There are no authentic longbows that exist from that era. Most of the authentic artifacts are from the Mary Rose, and they're not medieval. They're Tudor. It is a cool picture, but it's not very accurate.

That's good to know. Is there any manuscripts or books detailing archery back then or is it just hearsay passed down?

Lots of books and research available, especially data from the Mary Rose.
