First yew bow in progress

So I've been keeping pearl drums' hackberry recurve tutorial in mind as I build my first yew recurve.

I bent those tight recurves and the came out perfectly!

I spliced it and it's 63" tip to tip so far.  I'm thinking of shortening it 2".
I have a 4" z splice in the center.  If I cut it in half there and re splice it that will give me a 60" bow.  It is all 1/4 sawn heart wood and I'm planning to sinew it with Knox and skin it.

Will  60" with a rigid handle bump and tight recurves  make a 28" draw bow in these conditions?

I just recently finished a 62" osage 5 curve, or cupid bow, it came in at 35#'s @ 28" and I believe that with a couple light layers of sinew it will go to 55@28. You should be able to do a 60".

Instead of redoing your splice why not just cut off your tips?
I personally would leave the length. After your do your recurves
is when you should trim the length.
Because the last inch or 2 will not bend anyways when you try to recurve them.
60" @ 28" is no problem with a stiff handle, could even go shorter with sinew
