String Length for short bows
« on: October 15, 2014, 06:06:01 pm »
As a rule of thumb what should the string lengths be for short bows that are 53,54,55, 56 and 57 inches NTN with a 6 inch brace height assuming no recurved tips and slight string follow? How much longer should the strings be for recurved tips?
I order then from 3 Rivers Archery.

Thanks

3" for straight limbed,4" for recurve is a estimate.if it's a little long it can be twisted for ajustment.have to be careful twisting a string to much or it will break down rapidly.

Making your own strings may be an option?

Make your own strings with a bowyers knot on the bottom and they will fit any of them.
