Hammering tendons soon
« on: October 14, 2014, 10:35:28 pm »
I usually trade away my tendons, but I need to replenish my supply of sinew. Here's a picture of my 'anvil' which my friend made from a piece of rail and gave to me.

Just be careful to hit the sinew flat so you don't cut through it.

That's why I use a round rock pat, no edges.

Hey Chadwick, do you mind taking some pictures as you go for the newbies?

Oh, and after 30 years of paperwork your tush will wish you did more manual labor! I hear ya though, my back is telling me about it! But I hate paperwork more than back pain!!!

I'll be pounding some sinew soon also.  I don't mind messing with the leg pieces.  I have a lot of slow time at work.  I usually keep a few pieces in my desk drawer.

OO makes some darn good sinew, I can attest to that!  What do you use to pound and shred your sinew?

I lay my sledge hammer down on the work bench and use a regular hammer with a slightly rounded head to lightly pound it against the side of the sledge hammer.  I just shred it by hand.

I use a rounded hammer on this anvil. I then shred by hand, and it works just fine.
I was pounding tendons out on a big rock in my yard when I lived in Portland OR -- the cops were called and he had his hand on his pistol while questioning me what I was doing. My wife stepped out onto the porch and (luckily) claimed me.

Did you leave Portland because of wacko neighbors? Why would someone call the cops?

Apparently I violated the tendon-free covenant? I left Portland to seek wackos elsewhere... turns out they're everywhere!
