hornbow drying/seasoning rack
« on: October 11, 2014, 12:56:31 pm »
here  is a seasoning rack that will help eliminate limb twist and torque
its is fully adjustable left and right of the center line axis, top and bottom.. the measurements of this  particular rack are 3'x1'x 10". I have a couple others for larger and long style bows. it has been a great help in keeping the limbs more straight = easier to open up the bow and tiller..
from my own experiences building these type bows I have concluded that a shorter curing time, 2-4 months seems to let the bow reflect somewhat more limb twist and instability, also the longer the bow limb, the rack holds the limb position better that just hanging the bow from a hook to season.
hope this helps individuals with this problem ,, if you build horn bows,at some time you will surely build a bow that has limb twist..........James
