This bow just developed a pretty bad crack and while I made a post for the repairs I want to post it incase I end up with no bow. This is my 46th bow and a copy of my 6th bow which has up until now (and longer if this one doesn't live ) has been by far my most shot bow. There are some differences between the two, notably the lack of a plethora of craftsmanship errors, a difference of one pound I draw weight at 28", the new one is about 1.5" shorter then the old, it is also 4mm wide at the nock compared to 1cm on the old, it averages about 1cm narrower then the old and most importantly weighs 375grams compared to 475g.

This is the thread for the old bow ironically the crack makes them more similar as the old one has a similar but more mild crack in the same place

Really like this one, the profile, skins and handle wrap are sweet. Hoping it holds on for you, its a beauty and it looks like you put a lot of work into crafting it. That crack was a nasty one, would scare me thats for sure.

Wrap it with sinew, it's too nice looking to lose. By the way, why do you draw so far back? Kinda looks like a former wheel shooter.

 English long bow shooters sometimes have a far back floating anchor, and some styles of Japanese bows require a long floating anchor,, if the bow is designed for a certain longer draw,, then the shooter will have to draw far back ,,or to the designed anchor  to get the best performance that the bow was designed for..it is not that unusual,,
