Hunting rig almost done
« on: September 15, 2014, 11:26:28 am »
Pat b was generous enough to help me out with a hunting bow in a trade we made. I just had to shoot it in and dress her up. I'm not even sure the dimensions but I know she comes in at 70@29"

Boy is it fast

Split a giant cotton mouth skin for backing. Some tread wrap just because. Still gotta put some leather on her. Got last coat of finish drying.

What y'all think?

You can Pearlie but it won't get you anywhere. ;)
She's looking good, Bruce. 70# is a bit heavy but if you can handle it there should punch a hole in an elk.  8)

This bow was going to be a TG trade bow but I had problems with it and opted to make another for that trade. The ring ratio is about 50/50 and it dented badly and cracked when I reflexed the tips. I filled the belly cracks with super glue. She shoots well and was tillered out to 30"(for a 29" draw). When Bruce was looking for a bow for 29" draw I sent him this one. The original was gonna be tillered to 45# to 50#@29". I'm surprised it is still at 70# but what the hey.  ;D

Thanks guys. I've got alone of good medicine on this bow. Things from 3 people and me. Hopefully she'll make meat, preferably with antlers so I can rub it in all the bay Sayers at work. Lol what do wheelie guys think people hunted with bad in the day?
