Beautiful! 8) ;)  Now, lets see you put them on a bow handle! ;)  I think that would really set it off.  Especially, a reflex/deflex type bow! ;)  Like one of Steve Parkers' bows!

If you have one of the vacuum sealers, some of them come with, or you can order the vacuum jars.  That could be used, and you wouldn't have to try to make one. ;)

Ok an update: I pulled the future knife scales out of my mixture yesterday...I took them to work and let them sit in our paint booth during the bake cycle(3 times) and the dried out pretty good..I took them home and began filling the voids with gel super glue..Tomorrow I"ll begin shaping and sanding....NOTE:::::: Do Not ever, and I mean ever try to dry out a Corn cob in the microwave:::Ask me how I know....... ::) ::)

Absolutely sexy scale handle and sheath combo!
Now,....about that microwave story, you have got to post! >:D

The first foodsaver I bought many years ago came with the cover for a mason jar... Never used it might have one kicking around somewhere.... ONE SMALL PROBLEM... you will have to put a air releive valve in the line as not to suck the liquid up the line can't go to full power right away.... Bill if you don't mind I'll post a pic of my setup...

Drying of the cob?? Are you drying the raw cob or the one that has been soaked in the juice??  Raw/cooked cob use a dehydrater Yes/No  just guessing

We are going to need details on the microwave story/ pics...

Thanks Leroy

Long story short I nuked it to long..Big smelly mess and a blackened Microwave inside..I got it cleaned but it still smells like a burnt corn cob..Still in the dog house from 3 weeks ago..WARNING! WARNING!..DONT TRY IT!!!

Funny story Bill.... Feel your pain.. was making fluflus one day on the kitchen table.. Had a paper bag with rubber blunts in it.. Daughter comes by makes to popcorn.. 1/4 cup popcorn in a paper bag 2 minutes on high easy peasy right... We bs for a while she pops a bag in the mic and walks away....... I go to put the blunts on the arrows open bag and I'm looking at popcorn :o :o :o..... Look at microwave FIRE!!!!! Open the front door grab the mic and toss it out on the front lawn STINK wow what a smell.... Got a new one.. >:(

Used a mason jar with a plastic lid that fit good (kraft miracle whip) put a plastic hose barb in with a back nut to seal tight.. hose runs up to a tee off the tee use a air valve to control amount of vacuum.. Reason - when you start up at full pressure the pressure creates a lot of bubbles and you will suck the juice to your vac pump... Slow and steady wins the race... Got lucky I own a vac pump from when I did asbestoes work in the old days....
Thanks Leroy

It might work with one of Ziplocks vacuum bags and their hand pump you can buy at the grocery store.
