alternative glues for horn bows

From reading above I see that hide glue has been traditionally used and preferred for it's ability to make corrections.

Can these corrections that hide glue is capable of, be made once the glue is dried completely, or are the corrections of the type that are done shortly after the glue-up has jelled, but not cured yet?

You can heat hide glue and it will soften to make changes or corrections.
 I've hear that Urac works on horn/wood.
