Hi Everyone,
Like many I'm sure, I check out the boards regularly but don't post too often. Time is tight and other priorities take precedence.
I build a good number of bows over the year and wanted to take a minute to show you some of what I have been working on.
Up first is a yew recurve I built for a fellow in Kuwait. It is 68 inches long. pulls 80lbs at 30 inches. Sinew and snake skin backed, with large recurves and antler overlays and arrow rest. The wood burning is done by my lovely wife Jenna, both the old english signing and the islamic caligraphy writing.
It is to date on of the hardest bows I have made. Partly due to the need for the alignment to be bang on before I start to sinew, as I didn't want to have to do any heat bending afterwards. So I did a temporary silk ribbon backing with hide glue - so I could wet it and take if off once I was happy with the bend.
thanks for looking,
hey, no peeking at my wood pile
