Dialogue in your head?
« on: August 27, 2014, 02:13:55 pm »
I wondered if was just me?!
I was running a Boo slat over the belt sander (for a boo backed Yew target ELB) and saying to myself...
"a bit more that side"
Then looking down it and thinking...
"Those plane marks are virtually gone"
"There is no 'virtually' >:( they are gone or not gone... that's where newbies screw up... keep going until they are gone"
Then I sort of chuckled to myself at this internal dialogue... I s'pose it's how I keep check of what I'm doing.
I really talk to myself big time when I'm on that bandsaw... gotta keep the concentration up.
Do you guys talk to yourselves, either inside your head or out loud?

Most of the time. I have a million things going through my head every second, talking to myself allows me to have a list of what to do and when to do it. Then my wife talks to me and I forget.

Yeah I find myself talking out loud as well; especially when I screw up.

Yep , inside my head till I mess up then I complane to myself out loud .
Not just when I work on bows ether , I find myself talking to myself when I'm looking at trees I want to cut for bow wood .

Kinda thought everyone did from time to time , kinda where my common seance comes in ( if I listen to myself) , after all isn't that what common seance is , that little voice in your head telling you what to do and not to do .

I am usually listening to an audio book, normally historical, or music. Its a great way to kill two birds with one stone. When I'm not, I have conversations and arguments with myself all the time. ???
