In my ever growing quest to become self relying, I have taken up pottery in the traditional native American fashion. Using only clay from around my property. I use the coil stacking method because as far as we know the native American tribes never developed the pottery wheel. I have learned that just like every other primitive skill, pottery isnt very hard once you have some practice. It has been very rewarding. You can make most anything you need from bowls, to oil lamps, to smoking pipes, with no tools at all.
