Is it wrong of me?
« on: August 24, 2014, 02:14:04 am »
I am just about done making my 2 nephews first bows. These are the second, and third bows that I have ever finished (Or will finish). They are both just small board bows. The one that is shooting is so dang fun to shoot. It pulls close to 30#, and I have made a few 15.5 inch bamboo arrows for it. I let a friend shoot it and he pulled it close to 22 inches, far more than I intended. The problem is this, I really like it, and I really don't want to give it away. I'm sure when he is shooting it this next weekend it will be worth it, but it is going to be tough. I guess he is lucky that I love him so much. I'll post some photos of them tomorrow.

Giving a bow to a youngster is a great feeling, the smile on his face will make you want to do it again and again.  :)

Build yourself another bow and teach your nephews how to build their own bows.

I watched one of them yesterday. He had the choice between going and watching Supercross or hanging out wit me. He always chooses to hang out with me. I had him help sand some arrow shafts. Little steps. He's only 5, but it makes me happy that he would rather come over and hang out with me than go watch the races (He races himself, that is why it is surprising).

It is great that when given the option (their parents let them choose who is going to watch them) they choose my wife and I.
