No Cody I use crayons, my mom won't let me have sharpies just because of that one time I scribbled on the walls with one. ;D

 In all seriousness though I thingk Greg uses a lot of earth pigments. His bows look like they belong in a museum.

I totally though you guys were talking about painting with tempura mix. I was trying to figure out how you came to deciding to use that to paint. X)

I am glad that this thread went the way it did. Hopefully this will also help others as well.

So, with all that said about painting, what about dyeing the wood? What do you normally use and do for that?

I like leather dye for bows, you can dilute it with alcohol if the color is too strong and also intermix different colors to come up with what you want. I know a lot of guys like rit dye as well, I've never tried it myself.

Rit dye as well as unsweetened Kool-Ade mixed with alcohol works well too.
