Heavyweight tri-lam pyramid 90#@28"
« on: August 17, 2014, 04:38:37 pm »
I posted last week asking some questions about a pyramid tri-lam of hick, PH, hick that I wanted to finish anywhere between 80-120 lbs. Several encouraged me to try it and gave me a few pointers. It SURVIVED!

I still need to step down the sandpaper a few more times and finish it so forgive the pencil marks. It will also get a hemp wrapped handle and a few matching limb wraps where some questionable drying cracks were repaired. It was tillered and shot in with tied on nocks so tomorrow when the glue has cured on the overlays ill post braced and full draw pics. Here are the stats:

3/16 hickory
1/4 purpleheart
1/2 hickory (after tillering, the belly lam is maybe 3/8")

68" ntn
1.75" at the fades tapered to 3/8" nocks
4" handle, 1.25" wide with 2" fades.
Back is trapped 30%
90#@28"
It took 1" set on both limbs

This is my first attempt at glued overlays so as always critiques are welcomed.

Looks  8) just don't strain to hard crankin' that thing back ;) Do you have a full draw picture?

Oops!!! I just reread your post. Disregard my question about the FD pic.
