Cheap Feathers
« on: August 12, 2014, 09:56:11 pm »
Besides shooting a turkey (which I will do in a few months) is there an inexpensive site to buy turkey feathers. Any other options that work well besides turkey that are inexpensive? Thanks!

Any feather of appropriate size will make good fletching. One big warning though...most feathers are federally protected(here in the US) and the penalty can be steep. Your best bet is to try to trade with someone that has some to offer. Also, turkey hunters and goose hunters are both a good source.

I asked every guy at work that I know turkey or goose hunts. soon Im going to post a flyer at work asking for leftover feathers in return for something. 3 shifts, lots of hunters so my odds are pretty good.

One of the suppliers on the site has them for sale. Natural, Wild, and White.
