My first recurve ...

Hello guys...i start this year pretty nice i could say...i wanted for a long time a recurve, and after i broke one a fiew mounth a go..( whenn i try to bend the tips), now i finaly decided to give it a try again and this is whatt it coume out.Its a honey locust bow...saap wood on the back and heart wood on the belly. Its aboute 175cm long, it pulls 52#@ 29".I give it a balck-red finish i try to make him look ancient some how, and the strike plate is made from bone, and the overlays are cow horn.I hope you will like it...
The bow had a little deflex in the limbs..so i try to put some reflex on him before tillering but the bow come oute like it wass at the first time..so the delfex is his natural deflex....

looks real good to me, did you use steam or dry heat to bend the limbs?

Hi...sorry i forgot to mention this..i used steam..aboute 45 minutes for each tip.And i have used something metalic, to help the belly of the bow not to get the tips broken or something. It worked quite well...just small splinters that i had themm remouved later.

Akila looks great.
Tiller looks right on IMO,but you might consider a lower brace height to reduce set in the limbs.Love the looks of this bow.

That recurve came out really nice! I agree with Mamba that the brace should be lower...might do some untwisting on that string to lengthen it.
