Looks very nice.

Thank you everyone for all the wonderful comments! Going out shooting with this bow tonight, should be fun!

That is a sharp bow! Unfortunately I don't have the option of working with a clean stave.  So a lot of what I have looks like that one. I just wish they turned out like that did.  Well done! Patrick
Haha this was the only osage stave I have managed to be able to find anywhere around here so I had to take it, warts and all. They do make for some great teachers though!

  • If the wood will bend, I'll make it beautiful!

Your right there JL!  You will learn a lot from a crooked Osage! Patrick

Missouri, where all the best wood is! Well maybe not the straightest!

Building a bow has been the most rewarding, peaceful, and frustrating things I have ever made with my own two hands!

That tiller is great!
From the pics I'd say maybe the tips could be reduced some more in width to add speed and reduce hand shock; how wide are they??

Thank you!
Agreed, I hadnt actually noticed how wide the were. Creepin up on 1/2" Might have to go and take a bit off. No handshock to speak of and shoots nice and quiet, though I may have actually been a bit conservative at the 55lbs. Measured it again today and it is closer to the 58-60 range.
