Osage bow length based on height

I have a 71 inch Osage stave, but I've read in previous posts that the longest you should make Osage is 66 inches. However, I'm 6'2 and have a draw of 29 inches so wouldn't I want to keep a little more length?

I have heard you want your draw length per limb, plus handle length.

The design of the bow will matter. I'm building an osage selfbow for the TG bow trade and it is 66" for a 29" draw.  The shortest you want to build an osage selfbow is 2x your draw length + about 10%. This is for a well tillered osage selfbow.

Being  one of your first, I would leave it as long as possible. You will have plenty of opportunities to cut it shorter as you tiller the bow. just remember in the beginning you are looking for a well tillered functioning bow, don't be out to push the limits. and if you come in lite you can always cut it down.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet... 8) osage can make a wonderful bow still past 66" long...most who say/said that just don't know how to execute it properly 8)

  I would go 68' or 69" if you are sure about the 29" draw length.
