Elm Hall "Stick bow Shoot" donation
« on: July 24, 2014, 06:47:22 pm »
Im donating this to the Pine River Rec Club to raffle off at their 25th Annual "Stick bow Shoot" next weekend. For those who haven't been to this shoot, you owe it to yourself to hit it at least once. Its a fantastic club on fantastic grounds with fantastic 3-d ranges.....and the Saturday dinner?? People come just for that. It trumps the whole weekend. The amount of donated food and time is staggering.

Hickory
67" ntn
A stout 55# @ 28"
Osage overlays
452x 10 - strand string

She flat SMOKES an arrow. Id dare say its as fast any bow in its category, glass or not. Should make somebody a good hunting bow. I stained the whole bow with grey alcohol base dye. Then took some whooped out 220 grit and lightly hit the ridges to get the coolest camo job yet for me. I love the outcome. Its sealed in 5-6 coats of Deft clear satin, love that stuff lately to.

I've always liked hickory bows, my first three or four shooters were hickory.  Nice look'n dye job Chris, hickory can be tough to stain or dye and look good.  Really like the unbraced profile no set  :)  Good job for a good cause, way to go Chris.

Superb craftsmanship.  Next time will need to send ya one of the GOOD slingshots.
