Just got these finished - The hickory has been done for a while and I've got a few hundred arrows through it. It was a bit of an experiment, but I'm really happy with it, I just wish I had made it a touch heavier. I think I'm going to gift it to my buddy who has 28" draw, and will therefore be a better fit for him.
2nd one, was my first experience with Osage. I picked up a board (the best I could find) at a lumberyard and gave it a try. Now I see why people save their best wood for statics. A few problems with knots chrysalling right around a grain swirl, but so far, the bow is shooting and seem to holding weight and not hinging, but I`m going to keep a close eye on it. Of course, after the finish is all on, I see that the top limb could come around and bit more, but that is the limb with the patches, so I may leave it unless you all think otherwise. All in all, a great learning experience with Osage, belly patches and statics. Thanks to all for the advice I got on both these bows.
#1 Flat sawn Hickory backed with Quarter sawn hickory, 45#@28" 66" ntn.
Both of these guys are Assymetrical, with the top limb 1" long than the bottom.
