Tillering is hard work.... I don't know how much to take off just to get it close it's natural relaxed/strung  position.

Just go incredibly slowly I guess. That's what I'm trying to do these days. I find myself spending a lot more time staring at the piece of wood than scraping it.

get it even limb wise and bend wise then remove evenly, that's what I TRY to do just don't get too carried away cause that's easy to do
