Hey guys,
I'm building an elm self bow and this is my first time working with elm. I was thinking about heat treating the belly. How well does elm take to heat treating?

I would place it at the very top for heat treating. I think HHB reacts to the heat just as well but elm has an edge in the back being safer after heating the belly.
