Yew "Otzi" longbow bear tooth nocks 50# @ 28" 70" ntn

I made this bow for a fellow who really admired Shawn Woods Otzi the iceman bow of youtube fame.  The title of Shawn's youtube video is "Making a Primitive Yew Bow for primitive archery hunting using stone tools. Otzi the Iceman bow"  This bow is from a piece of yew harvested with Weylin and Wylden Freeborne.  It is 50# at 28" of draw and 70" ntn.  The stave had a natural 1" delfex and took an additional 1" set.  I lightly heat treated a little reflex in it now remains near flat after shot-in.  I enjoyed shooting this one in.  It has a nice humm to it. Shawn and I got together to sign the bow with a wood-burner and take a photo for the customer.

Nice bow Carson, I really like the nocks. Are they bone or antler? is it flat belly or slightly rounded?

Yo, nice bow. I like the treatment of the hole, you can really see the flow of the grain round it on the belly looks great.
And those Osage guys thought they had all the best holes ::)

That is one fine looking bow there Carson, beautiful work. The number of really fine bows that show up on this site is so amazing it's hard to go a day without checking in to see what new creation is pictured in the pages of PA. :)
