Heat Gun

Thinking of getting a heat gun, is 1200-1500 ample enough for doing the kind of work we do. Don't want anything to expensive. I could look in the thrift shops, but then again its buyer beware. Lots of garage sales now, but have not found anything.

I paid $5 at a garage sale for mine about 100 bows ago. I think it is a B&D 2 speed(1200-1500). I think you can get a Wagner for $20 to $30.

Yep the Wagner, I tried the cheapo ones at harbor freight, and they don't last long, they take them back and give ya a new one but it ain't worth it, Wagner is a great gun

I'm glad this subject came up because I need to replace mine, I've been looking a few guns and some go up to 2000 watts. The gun I have now is 550 watts, seems to do OK but kind of slow . My question is what watt guns are you guys using?

My Wagner is 650-1200 watts. Temp is 750-1000 F. It will get too hot to fast if you don't watch it. Heat treating is still boring though
