Chokecherry recurve
« on: June 18, 2014, 08:53:18 am »
I just finished this one out of some rather low density chokecherry cut a year ago. I kept the limbs wide and pretty thick too, but she is only pulling 30lbs at 30" in the end.

66½" long, 1¾" wide and took 1½" of set. The handle is built up with pin board cork.

Nice clean look to her.  Nice bend too.

Very nice bow.. Great tiller on her... You did real good... Don't expect big poundage on chokecherry if you want it to live long.. One of my only local woods.. Have blown up my share...

Great job on that one, you were wise to bring it in at the poundage you chose, looks just about right.
