Out for a walk...
« on: June 17, 2014, 08:36:34 pm »
As we do most days, my wife Marcia and myself and dog headed down our driveway for a walk. Without a clue to us or Lucy our chocolate lab, we crossed paths with this forest traveler only minutes apart. He's not a big bear but I love knowing he around.   We've lived here for 24 years and very rarely see bears. I have seen sign; scat, sign posts and marking trees, and only 2 face to face sightings in the 24 years we've lived here. Note the time line on the trail cam pics.

That is cool Pat.
Good to know you don't have to refrigerate him till you want to eat him.
Only joshin. Nice to share the neighborhood. We do the same here on the Shenandoah.

You sure didn't miss that bear sighting by much, wonder if he saw the three of you?  It is cool that you got him on the camera though.

Pappy, we do have a bear season here but I don't care to shoot one. I just like knowing hey are here.
Chamookman, this is on 25ac property we live on but a pic-a-nick basket isn't out of the question
Bubby, we love it here. After 24 years we still can't see another house from our house or most of the property.

Too cool Pat!

Am I the only one that is jealous that it is only 65 degrees there?  Great pictures and a beautiful setting you are in.

I am like you Pat, not big on shooting bears. Here in Ca. they are starving and dieing from thirst.
