Yesterday's struggle
« on: June 06, 2014, 08:05:04 pm »
Worked these up yesterday fresh out of the roaster. Some chalky stuff from Austin area. The longest one has cortex at both ends, I thought that was kinda cool.
And the Simpsons from this months POM. Doesn't look like many go there lately.
I tried to make some big ole thin somethinorothers today but was one of those days where everything broke >:(.

Beautiful points Cowboy. I have to tell you that as plain as Edwards Chert may be, I believe it to be one of the most superior materials to knap in the southern US. It gets thin easy, is strong, yet carries a flake well. Damn good work. And the Mustache points are superb. You are an excellent knapper and I can't say enough about your results.

Years ago I got several hundred lbs of Edwards from San Antonio and I still love it (and cursed it raw!).

Well thanks fellers! I had fun making them and everybody like a little pat on the head now and then ;D.
Dalton knapper, that perd or Edwards, whatever it is has been my mainstay for a lot of years. It will test your perseverance at times :).
