fallen tree sstill good?

they were clearing the powerlines about a half a year ago.  my question is is it still good and how long will i have to let it cure for. i imagine its fine and im thinking it will only have to sit for another half a year

If it's a whitewood species, it's likely already got decay in it. Osage, mulberry, black locust, and ERC heartwood will usually still be OK after time in the weather, but whitewoods like hickory, ash, maple, etc. will usually rot quickly, especially if they are laying on the ground. You'd just have to try it and see.

If its osage just check to make sure borers haven't already been at it, if it looks good finish removing all of the bark and sapwood right away before letting it dry. My first self bow I ever made came out of a pile of bulldozed hedges that had been there 2 years.
