streaks
« on: January 14, 2008, 11:07:28 am »
Has anyone ever preserved the red streaks in a finished osage bow? there's a better ring just below this one,( a very fresh stave) and if there's no way to preserve these, I'll probably chase that one.
Have another stave that will probably have these in the belly, where they should feather out with the fades. I assume they fade and disappear as the wood dries, and there's no way to "fix" the color, but had to ask....

I've seen finished bows with the red color in them. I would guess it gradually darkens with time along with the yellow color.

Progress might have been all right once but it's gone on for far too long.
