Pacific Yew Longbow #50@28"

This bow was commissioned as an anniversary gift to a husband by a friend of mine. We kept it a secret the whole time. On the day she gave it to him he thought we were just meeting out at the range to shoot some of my bows. I tried to think of how to get him to take his bow out of the bow sock without making him suspicious but he just randomly grabbed that bow sock and pulled out the bow. There was a card tied to it. He started to read the card and his eyes got bigger and bigger. He had a huge smile on his face and he said, "No Way!" It was really fun to see him so excited about receiving the bow. I hope he gets years of enjoyment out of it.
The bow is 67" long and it pulls 50# @ 28". It is the sister stave to the last yew longbow I posted. The tips are buffalo horn, the handle wrap is leather with calf lace and the string is fastflight. Here are some pictures, taken by his wife (Bodeene Berrevoet's Photography) thanks for looking.

Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

Some wives just know what to get their husbands for gifts. Nice job Weylin!

I think I would have a huge smile if I opened a sweet gift like that as well. Nice work.

That turned out great. Way to surprise him. Did the arrows match up OK?
