how to search words in topics？

well, i don't know where to post such a basic question so i posted it here.
when i used search tool, the results ranged from most relative to least, but not all the topics including my word. i have tried other options such as oldest, most rencent and so on and it doesn't work.
For example, i searched "recurve" but the results only contained 3-4 topics named "recurve". we all know that there must be hundreds of topics includig this word.
So my question cames, how to search words in topics? thx.

The best way to search the site is to use google. type in something like "primitive archer recurve" and it will be much more effective at pulling up the threads you are looking for. The PA search engine kind of sucks.
