Reuse sinew?

I have an Osage bow with a really ugly sinew job on it. I'd like to remove the sinew, and use it on another project.
Can I soak it in a warm bath, rinse it out and re use it? It all makes sense in my head, thought I'd hit you guys up to see if there's a method, or just a bad idea.
I assume it wouldn't take long for the sinew to come off, but will I have to season the Osage for a while, or would I risk ruining it?

You won't  ruin the wood and yes just soak it in a bath. Then use the patience of Job to get it all bundled up again ready to use  ;)

As long as there is no finish over the sinew you can soak it off and reuse it.

This is the best way I've seen sinew applied. It's clear and concise, in the process of getting it smooth you are squeezing a lot of extra glue which lowers mass. Lower mass = better. It looks great.
