Need Apple Wood
« on: June 05, 2014, 01:10:51 pm »
I am looking for some apple wood, not much, but flat pieces about 1/4" to 1/2" thick, 1" to 2" wide and a foot long. I need about three or four pieces like that.

For trade, I have brand new Ace Archery hex head small game blunts, 145gr. I have other items if the blunts don't work for you.

Do you need them in a board form or is off the tree in a log ok? I have a few logs I cut a few months back that won't work for a bow so just left em in the pile for now.

Log form would work fine. What diameter and length are the logs?

I'll look when I go to the workshop later but I know they are 4 to 6" and 3 or 4 feet long. I could hack em down to a manageable shape if interested. I like the dark heartwood and have some smaller branch chunks I hope to use for some overlay someday.

5" at biggest and plenty long enough. Little branch is from 3 years ago when I thought I would someday make a crazy bow from it  ::)
Also my floor tillered hackberry in there  ;D

Do you have any leather for grips? See my trade post.

I have a couple pieces of gold buckskin that would be perfect for grips. I can measure them for you and let you know, if gold will work for you. I would trade that plus the Ace points for one or two 3' long logs of about 4" to 5" diameter if that works for you.
