I got my first Turkey, (OK my only turkey)when I was eight years old, down in the Big Cypress, with my Dad. I used a .410 with number 4 shot. One pellet went through the heart. I was a good distance for even a 12 gauge, but my little full choke single shot, did the job. I remember it was all I could do to carry it. I ended up riding on my Dad's shoulder, back to camp. Your Son will not forget this day! Especially with a bow! Even if it was a wheelie, it was a bow, and arrow! Good for him, and especially good for you, for taking him hunting! I can only imagine how you feel. One tail feather? Just goes to show, that even an old beat up guy, can still get the girls! It sure does have some nice primaries though! Those will make some nice fletching!
Now you need to make some arrows, with those feathers, for him.
Congratulations to your Son, and to You!
