Osage working recurve 48/28 (No. 43)
« on: April 17, 2014, 05:15:39 pm »
This is Nr. 3 from this thread: http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php?topic=45969.0
The wood is very nice, dark osage. It is reflexed about 4½“, the recurves are working. Tip overlays are antler of roe. Two cluster knots areas were wrapped as a precaution. The bow is asymetrical and 60½“ long.

Just noticed I have forgotten the front profile, will do that in the next days. (Sorry)

Enjoy

Simson,
That is some awesome work...I have pictures of different tiller for reference in a folder that I save from research. Yours are all there sir...

Very nice bow, Simon. I love the irregularity of the antler tip overlays. Cool!   8)

That is a very nice bow there.  I like the tips with the off cut tip overlays.  I love the unbraced profile

I'm a fan of working recurves myself, and you nailed that bow right there. Everything about it says smooth power, excellent.

You are just to good :P
I need to rub your head for good luck.
Nice bow ,  I like how the antler is not wide enought as it fades into the osage

I LIKE ;) ;) ;D

Unbraced, braced and drawn.  I like it all.  The wood looks dreamy.  Very nice work Sir.

Very nice indeed.  I've only made 1 working recurve and they started to pull out after awhile.  I hope yours fares better

Nice as usual!  I really like that style of hanle grip did you glue twine wraps to make that ribbed look?

Awesome recurve Simon.  That will be a fine hunting bow for years to come.

You are obviously a very good bowyer. The tiller on your bows is always right on the money. You must also spend more time than many on your finish as it looks great.
