Intro to archery gone wrong

A salesman stopped by work today and was telling me about his attempt at his first shot with a wheelie bow.  Alcohol may have been a factor. Needless to say, he struggled getting it to full draw, but did, and proceeded to tear his bow arm off on the release. This is the worst case of string burn I have ever seen.  He said he did hit the target though.  :o

He was good natured and laughed about it, but said he decided archery wasn't his thing.  City boys.  .  .  . I tell ya. ::)

I got one like that years back when an arrow broke on release. My bruise began just below my shoulder and ran to my elbow.
 Someone ought to teach that guy to bend his bow arm elbow a bit and not try to shoot a bow that's too heavy for him.

them wheelie shooters don't bend their arm pat, they have to have this perfect form, that's why it takes'em so long to take a shot

last time I saw a bruise that bad was a girl in college! Not saying anything at all against you you fine girls and ladies here on PA mind you.

That guys arm looks like he broke a blood vessel or something to get that kind of a bruise.

I talked a kid at work into letting a big stag beetle clamp down on his nipple with its pinchers for 50 cents.  Best half dollar I've ever spent  ;D


Greg, why don't you make that guy an arm guard and introduce him to a "safer" side of archery.
