heck ya just soak them a few minutes till they soften up, then dry off the surface water, wetting them just makes application easier
failure is an option, everyone fails, it's how you handle it that matters.

I always soak mine then squeegee the excess water out of them and let em air out a few minutes so they are not saturated with water but moist and pliable. Then apply them to the back that has TBII on it, fresh not sized. I squeegee the excess glue out of it and all the air bubbles and then just let it dry. I then trim the edges with a razor blade.  It works great have had no problems this way.  Danny

I also wet the skins.  Being wet makes them quite supple and easier to work air pockets out.
