Kind of an indian bow..:)..ipe-boo-45lbs@ 28"

HI, this is the last bow that i made..from the same material that i used for making those long bows..ipe-boo and a short stripp of black-locust on the handle area to make a little more rigid...the bow is 58" long ntn, and it has a small R/D shape...

How was the IPE to work I have some but afraid to work it a friend of mine had a bad reaction to it.

Trapper - ipe dust is plain nasty! But good airflow and a quality dustmask will see you alright :)

Hello..thank you  all for your compliments...ipe , is really nasty i have to say, specialy when you work with sandpaper on it...and this thing happents aniway when u finish the bow, to make it look smooth...so, wear a mask..even a cheap one, but wear a mask...otherwise you will feel like  u sniffed pepper on your nose..:))),,,and, another advice...iff u use it for laminated bows, u need to scrach to surface of the ipe, with something that has teeth...to leave some marks on the ipe..i dont know how its called...those blades used to cut iron with...or u could use sandpaper nr 40...this way the bond betwen ipe, and what you want to use for backing, wll be really good..
