bending osage bow finished

gun doc [josh] got me interested in a 5 curve so I made a form and started bending heres where im at right now  will post more later.thanks for lookin

I'd heat it back up and flatten the handle a little. That's gonna be a b@$!? To tiller. Looks sweet though

ohma2, now that's bending some wood! Did you experience any radial cracks on the belly? My latest heat bending gave me a few but was able to tiller them out. I started bending right after I was at very heavy floor tiller and that gave me lots of room for removal...Like the bends you have there...

Now that is one FINE looking little lady! I actually shouted "ooow! hot d@#%!" when I saw that! very cool, I cant get myself to push osage that much

the thing was completely tillered before I started bending and I only got one tiny crack in one limb tip about 6"in from tip it will sand out .will put underlays on it any way. will have to tweak a spot or two and do some weight reduction cause I know its going to be heavier than I want, the black spots aren't that deep and will pretty much go away with the finish work. ive put some strong bends in osage before this one and they worked out, this one was 60"before starting.got to get a few things collected to finish and let it rest a few days, who knows it might live ,like George says[ if you aint makin you aint breakin]

Help me with something....Your form looks backards from how I would have done it.  Especially if using a heat gun.  Just curious how you applied the heat while bending it.  Could be I will learn something new here.
