Here is a Yew take down I have been working on all winter when the weather would permit. 66" long. 1-1/2" wide to mid limb then tapers down. 55 lbs. @ 28" The tip overlays are Black Walnut and African Black wood. These were not sister billets. I had one short piece for several years and finally got another to make this take down. The one piece had more sap on it than the other so I thinned it down to try and match the other piece as close as I could. I am a Osage man and it was really tough on me to thin the sap on one of these Yew pieces as I just couldn't follow a ring to follow on Yew. Had several seasoned Walnut boards so I made me a little carrying case to go along with the bow. I have to get a couple of tie down straps to put in the case to keep the bow from moving around.
