the old scudf and ruff??

what do yall do to scuff and ruff a bow back to prepare for rawhide application??  kinda time swnsitive...so.      lol

Water will lift the grain, just wipe down with a damp cloth. It also opens the pores.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

A good sanding should be all you need. Of course, ipe the saw dust off. If you wipe it down with a damp rag before sizing with the glue wetting it will help the glue penetrate a little.

I just used a coping saw blade.  Hacksaw blades work too.  If you search rawhide backing on youtube clay hayes does a nice video.  Titebond hide glue is the sh*t for gluing rawhide.  Warm the bottle up in a warm water bath and i used a foam brush to spread it on.

Light sanding with 100 grit sandpaper, unless you are using hide glue.  In which case a good de-greasing is in order
