Russian Olive Fix

One of my Favorites,
  It delaminated the winter before last at the fades maybe to steep or maybe not the best wood for bows.  I have a few ideas , Want to see what you all think, Thanks Chuck

If that bow was mine, I would just hang it on the wall. It's going to fail. The riser will likely pop off where it's split, and the limb is going to break at the fade where the knot is cracked.

Man, I hate to admit it, but I have to agree with ol' 4-fingers...;) I love fixing and keeping bows shooting as much as anybody, but that would be on the wall if it where mine.

man that sucks, how the heck did you find a piece of russian olive long and straight enough for a bow? :o :) the stuff we got here only gets about 12-15' high and is as twisty and knotty as all get out >:( :( ;)

Thats ashame, that is beautiful wood. Is that the natural color of russian olive or is it stained? I planted some russian olive in my yard a few years ago and I'll be looking forward to trying it out as bow wood one of these days.

 This stave was harvested south of here in Summerland BC considered part of the Great Basin Desert Region,  you'll find semi-arid desert climate - very hot, dry summers, and mild winter weather.
