Backing Question

Some use sinew for backing, about how thick is it after its done. ?  Same thing with fabric backing, what if you double up on it.  Would it trap the belly. ?

U mean over power the belly, and it depends on wood and what kind of fabric. As far as I've read fabric is nothing like sinew. It's just protection. Sinew adds performance if some right

I'm no expert but I've done research.

If you use THIS "Pro Sinew Back Method" it's ends up reeely thin:

Using other methods it can build up and then ya gotta rasp/sand some (which I'm told, can somewhat lessen strength and protection).
Silk is obviously very thin but you can use any cloth up to even thick duct tape I'm told.
With any glued backing ya trim/rasp/sand along sides of face and it never reaches the belly.  -Z
