One more check Which limb for top??
« on: February 24, 2014, 11:08:05 pm »
Ok, made another BBI for myself.  Was shooting for 50 lbs and nearly hit the mark, came in 2 lbs light at 28". I think the first pic shows the best limb for the upper, would like to get your opinions as well. Will be used for stalking in some pretty dense brush so wanted to make it as short as possible.

59" NTN
28" draw
48lbs

Forgot to mention, has 1 1/2" of set after shooting, relaxes to 1" after resting

They both look good!  In think the first wins it by a hair.  Nice bow!

I would agree first pic of sho.  The second looks to be a little more stressed on the bottom limb.  The first is much more balanced.  Great job.  Can't wait to see pics of the whole thing :).  Keep us posted.

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I have just a bit more work to do and get it sealed. think it will get the job done. Put Zebra wood tips on it and have to decide on what color dye s for the back to camo it a little better.

Just curious - I assume you have shot it both ways - do you feel a difference?  As said I like the first pic.
Enjoy the hunt!  Mitch

Mitch, yes I have shot it and that was part of the reason I was thinking the first pic as well. Feels just that little bit smoother when shot from first pic.

First picture. It looks balanced/timed better.
Straight wood may make a better bow, but crooked wood makes a better bowyer

I think it's pretty darned close either way. Would suggest that you shoot it both ways and let the bow tell you which it prefers. Either way it's a damned fine looking bend ya got out of her.
