Ever tried Abalone for a strike plate or Arrow Head

   I used some on a Yew longbow a few years back.Steve Saffold sent it to me.I still have one piece left for a future project.

stuff sure is dangerous to work with, I wear rubber gloves use a resporator, five gallon bucket with water,a dust collection chamber then a shop vac in a box, just to be safe.
Dont want silicossis. Keeps the dust down in the kitchen.

 Sure ;D,I cut it with water and diamond saw,and polish it with diamond grinder.Besides silicosis the dust is toxic.

It is nasty to work with.  Here's a couple I did a while back.  I recently did a bow with actual abalone inlays.  I'll have to find some pics.
