Osage Static Recurve
« on: February 17, 2014, 11:20:10 pm »
I got the stave for this bow from Gus in a trade ( thanks again Gus) and it was near about as perfect as a piece of wood can get, straight as a string and not a blemish on it. It made me a little nervous ,I was scared I might mess it up but I took my time and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. The bow is 62 tip to tip pulling 46@27. 1 3/16 at the fades tapering mid limb to 3/8 tips. Rattan wrapped grip, finish is Linseed oil and 0000 steel wool and  burnished with a piece of glass.

I built this to shoot primitive class in the 3D shoots this summer and wanted something with a little Zip to it and  was not disappointed. This little bow is surprisingly quick for it's draw weight and a real pleasure to shoot. I was inspired to build this bow by all the great static recurves posted on here lately and would appreciate any constructive criticism or any improvements I might make.    Thanks for looking, Dan

Bang! You brought it all to the table with that effort!

Dang It Sir!
You did a Fine Job with that piece of Bodark...

But now that I look a little closer... I think I sent you the Wrong Stave...
If you would be kind enough to send that "Stave" back I'll send you the Right Stave...   >:D

She's a Beauty for sure.
Hope she serves you Well...  :)

PS. For the record, this stave originally came from Toomanyknots back in 2011.
